Kevin Jones On March 14, 2019, 15 tornadoes touched down in and around central Alabama. At the time, I was traveling to the Jesse Owens Memorial Park while researching a book about Owens. However, that trip was cut short when tornadoes began touching down across the region. Although there were no fatalities that day in Alabama, several days of severe weather had already struck parts of Alabama and Tennessee, leaving communities on high alert.
