A Pilot Study of Ex-vivo High Frequency Ultrasound and Core Needle Biopsy to Improve Clinical Tumor Staging of Cancer of the Bladder.
To evaluate whether high-frequency ultrasound (HF-US) and ultrasound-guided core needle biopsy (CNB) can accurately detect muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC) in an ex-vivo setting. In this prospective study, patients undergoing radical cystectomy (RC) for urothelial carcinoma underwent ex-vivo HF-US of the extirpated bladder to assess depth of tumor invasion (ultrasound stage, usT). In a subset, HF-US guided CNB of the opened bladder targeted the deepest region of tumor invasion (cnbT).
Longitudinal Tumor Mutation Burden Dynamics in Advanced Prostate Cancer Using Circulating Tumor DNA Profiling.
Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) genomic testing is increasingly used in advanced prostate cancer (aPC) to identify actionable alterations, however the longitudinal nature of tumor mutation burden (TMB) remains poorly characterized. Current guidelines recommend somatic testing at diagnosis of metastatic hormone-sensitive or castration-resistant disease, but do not address serial testing.
