BRISTOL, Ind. -- People living in one Bristol apartment building had to be evacuated out into the bitter cold after an apartment fire early Thursday morning. The fire started just after 3:30 a.m. in the ceiling of an upstairs apartment at the Golfview Manor Apartments on the 1300 block of West Vistula Street in Bristol. Firefighters believe there are 10 people displaced.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Police say a military member who was home visiting family for the holidays has been shot and killed in Berrien County. The St. Joseph Township police department says it happened just after 11 Monday night at a home on Colfax Avenue, just north of Benton and Riverview parks,. Officers say Tyrone Hassell III, 23, had been shot several times. He later died at Spectrum Lakeland hospital. It's not clear which branch of the military Hassell belonged to.
