1 Introduction Paediatric hypotrichoses refer to a genetically and phenotypically heterogeneous group of conditions presenting with congenital or early onset hair paucity. They are distinct from atrichias, disorders with complete absence of hair. There is a broad range of differentials for hypotrichoses, including cicatricial alopecia, non-scarring alopecia and inherited and acquired structural hair disorders.
