MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A Milwaukee County supervisor wants voters to weigh in before the county commits to construction funding for its nearly $900 million courthouse renovation project. Supervisor Justin Bielinski has introduced a resolution that would place a referendum on the November ballot. It would ask voters if they would require County Board approval for any additional financing for the project. Bielinski argues a project of this size should go before voters.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — Police are investigating after a pickup truck left the highway and crashed into a marshy area below an overpass near the Hale Interchange early Friday morning. The crash happened around 5:30 a.m. on Interstate 43 northbound near the interchange, where the truck apparently went off the overpass and landed in the marsh beneath the freeway. Scanner audio indicated the vehicle had gone over the median wall before coming to rest below the highway.

The district will present its plan for the upcoming school year and answer questions from families and community members during meetings on Monday, July 13, at 9 a.m. and Tuesday, July 14, at 5:30 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Don & Sallie Davis Boys & Girls Club at Rogers Street Academy, located at 2404 W. Rogers St. Spanish interpreters will be available, and the meetings will also be livestreamed.
