Tolerable temperatures and humidity will start the week, but it will become muggier by the weekend. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s and lower 90s, with dew points in the upper 60s, so while it will be humid, it won't feel as oppressive as the previous week.That will change on Wednesday and Thursday, as dew points climb into the lower 70s, making it feel uncomfortably hot and humid. Rain and thunderstorm chances will increase beginning Wednesday night and continue through early Saturday.

We are entering the final days of this recent stretch of unseasonably hot and humid weather. High temperatures will reach the lower to middle 90s today through Saturday, with morning lows remaining above 75 degrees and afternoon heat index values climbing as high as 105 degrees. During a multi-day heat wave, the risk of heat-related illnesses and fatalities is often greatest near the end of the event or even shortly after it ends.

The greatest concentration will remain to our south, in Texas, where air quality may be affected.While I don't expect it to have a significant impact on air quality in Kansas City, you may notice a hazy film across the sky during this period, along with the potential for fiery sunsets and sunrises. This comes along with an Extreme Heat Warning in Kansas City, which will last from Monday to Friday.
