We knew Qualcomm had big plans for its Snapdragon X2 processors, and now we're seeing it. Microsoft this week unveiled its latest Surface Pro and Surface Laptop devices, and they are powered by the Snapdragon X2, giving them better graphical performance and huge battery life. The Surface Pro 13-inch (12th Edition) is the bigger upgrade of the two on paper. Powered by either the Snapdragon X2 Plus (10-core) or X2 Elite (12-core), it delivers up to 53% faster graphics than its predecessor.

It seems low-tech phones are all set for a renaissance. Hot off the launch of Tin Can in Australia, there's a new, local player in town called Ciao Bella. Like the Tin Can, it delivers a retro handset design that gives parents a way to let their kids communicate with friends in a much safer way than just giving them a smartphone. The Ciao Bella is a home phone designed for children aged four and up. There are no apps, no internet, and no algorithmic rabbit holes.

Reviewing TVs can be a bit of a logistical challenge. While I do occasionally get a TV sent to my home to test out, it's also just as common for brands to set up their TVs in a hotel and have reviewers come to them. This week, I headed to Skye Suites in Sydney's CBD to experience Samsung's 2026 OLED TVs. The lounge room had a 65-inch S95H mounted on the wall, the HW-Q990H soundbar underneath it, the wireless rear speakers behind the couch, and the subwoofer tucked beside it.
