Nick Wagner is a bilingual photojournalist based in Seattle. He is currently a staff photographer at the Seattle Times and is a 2017 graduate of Western Kentucky University.

Nick is passionate about bridging the divide between the people he photographs and the communities that view his work. He journeyed alongside a migrant worker as he traveled in a cramped van some 72 hours away from his wife and kids in Oaxaca to a tobacco farm in Kentucky. What was your first job as a journalist?

My first staff photojournalist position was with the Austin American-Statesman.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

The only time I've used a typewriter was in my dad's office in the early 2000s.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I graduated with a class of 37 people, so I became the Student Media Director & published online, as it was too small of a school for a paper
