Ethan Curtiss took a call Thursday evening about his recent golfing accomplishment. Naturally, he was on the golf course when he answered the phone. Curtiss, a 17-year-old junior at Thousand Islands High School, last month achieved a feat that some golfers never accomplish in their entire careers — then he did it again. Curtiss hit his first hole-in-one on April 11. On Tuesday, he made his second hole-in-one.

WATERTOWN — The Watertown Wolves are going back to their roots for the 2026-27 season. Watertown businessman Daniel Drake announced over the weekend that he has come to an agreement to purchase the team and that it will remain in Watertown after speculation at the close of the season that the Wolves might move out of the city. Drake also dipped into the Wolves’ past by announcing former two-time Wolves head coach Brent Clarke as the team’s new head coach and general manager.

Local boxing: Hall of Famer Mancini returns to Watertown for pair of events

WATERTOWN — The childhood hero of the founder of the Watertown Area Boxing Club is making a return. Hall of Fame boxer Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini will appear twice in Watertown on the occasion of Saturday’s Battle Of The Badges 6 boxing matches at Jefferson Community College. Mancini, the 1982-84 WBA lightweight champion, will speak at 7 p.m. today at Immaculate Heart Central School, discussing his career and his faith. Then, on Saturday, he’ll appear at JCC as the WABC’s special guest.
