The Unlikelihood of a Two-State Solution After October 7th
A two-state solution sounds simple. Palestinians establish a country, and we keep ours. But to my dismay, it’s far more complex than that. The negotiation process, so intricate, makes envisioning a successful resolution exceedingly difficult.

Conserved degronome features governing quality control associated proteolysis - Nature Communications
Plasmids, yeast strains, and antibodies Antibodies, yeast strains, and plasmids used in this study are listed in Supplementary Tables 2, 3, and 4, respectively. Parental plasmid for yGPS-P screen Plasmid pGADT7-ADH700-yeCherry-p150-yeGFP-DHFR was obtained from Addgene (#24378)24 and was used as a template for PCR cloning of ADH700-yeCherry-P150-yeGFP into pTR141215 at NotI and XmaI restriction sites.
Author Correction: Deciphering eukaryotic gene-regulatory logic with 100 million random promoters
Correction to: Nature Biotechnology https://doi.org/10.1038/s41587-019-0315-8, published online 2 December 2019. In the version of this article initially published, a negative sign was missing negating the exponent in each of the three instances of the equation for accessibility, appearing in Fig. 2c, Methods section “Billboard model of transcription” and Supplementary Fig. 9.
Gene expression cartography
Abstract Multiplexed RNA sequencing in individual cells is transforming basic and clinical life sciences1,2,3,4. Often, however, tissues must first be dissociated, and crucial information about spatial relationships and communication between cells is thus lost. Existing approaches to reconstruct tissues assign spatial positions to each cell, independently of other cells, by using spatial patterns of expression of marker genes5,6—which often do not exist.

Accuracy of point-of-care ultrasound by pediatric emergency physicians for testicular torsion
To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. Figure 1 Study flow diagram. Figure 2 Study flow diagram. Summary Introduction Acute scrotum is a common presentation to the pediatric emergency department, and ultrasound is frequently used to narrow the differential diagnosis.
Pediatric residents’ simulation-based training in patient safety during sedation
In Israeli emergency departments, pediatric residents are allowed to independently perform procedural sedation after training. Preparing the residents to practice unsupervised sedations requires participation in a simulation-based training in patient safety during sedation (STPSDS). The study objective was to evaluate participants’ perception of knowledge and confidence from the STPSDS. We performed a retrospective analysis of participants’ self-reported perception of knowledge acquisition.
Effect of Patient and Nurse Ethnicity on Emergency Department Analgesia for Children with Appendicitis in Israeli Government Hospitals
Ethnicity is a risk factor for disparate Emergency Department (ED) analgesia. We aimed to explore ethnic variations in the administration of ED analgesia to children with acute appendicitis in Israeli government hospitals. Children discharged with an International Classification of Disease‐Ninth Revision diagnosis of acute appendicitis between 2010 and 2015 were included. The association between patient ethnicity (Jewish, Arab) and analgesia administration (any, opioid) was assessed.
Should I use shared_ptr or weak_ptr on not mainly containers?
I find by experience that using / , and even at all by extension, is often resulting in some kind of a big blurred design. Some people have advocated in the past that could be considered harmful, period. Because it makes ownership floating. And that ownership should be clear by design. I'm not sure if I want to appropriate myself this advice and advocate it too; but for sure I'll repeat it here for the sake of answering the question.
Private static member in base class
#include <iostream> #include <string> class Base { static std::string s; }; template<typename T> class Derived : Base { public: Derived() { std::cout << s << std::endl; } }; std::string Base::s = "some_text"; int main() { Derived<int> obj; } This programs compiles and runs normally. static variable s is private in base class that is inherited privately. How is Derived class accessing it? If Derived class is not template, compiler complains about accessing private variable.
Ideas for proposals to help Stack Overflow create a more positive community?
What people, including the article writer, don't get is that Stack Overflow is a website for serious computer science professionals, not wannabe coders looking for easy homework help and fun conversation. This is coming from someone who was on the receiving end of some pretty nasty anti-newbie sentiment, but all that did was teach me how to behave like a professional and still take down trolls.
Post-childhood Presentation and Diagnosis of DiGeorge Syndrome
Background and Objectives. The diversity of clinical presentations makes the diagnosis of DiGeorge syndrome (DGS) a diagnostic challenge. The objective of our study was to report the clinical presentation of DGS in the post-childhood period. Methods. A retrospective study, investigating patients diagnosed clinically and genetically with DGS at Sheba Medical Center during the period of 2010-2013. Post-childhood period was defined as age >10 years. Results.
