Then fasten every window close, Let him not enter there: He steals away our summer joys, And chills the genial air.

A Simplified Neural Network Framework from Scratch in Python
In this article, we'll delve into creating a foundational framework for a neural network, reminiscent of the Keras model, entirely from scratch in Python. Before proceeding, it's essential to have a foundational grasp of neural networks, including concepts like forward-backward propagation, loss functions, optimizers, and regularization techniques. With the introduction out of the way, let's dive straight in! For context, a standard neural network model in the Keras framework appears as follows.
Impact of FBG feedback phase on laser dynamics
Abstract Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) have been advantageously used to improve the chaotic properties of semiconductor lasers. Though these components are known to be highly sensitive to environmental conditions, feedback phase fluctuations are often neglected. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate that the small variations of the propagation time induced by a simple thermal tuning of the FBG are sufficient to induce significant changes of the laser behavior.
Tremendous opportunities exist in shipping and logistics industry
Logistics has always been the backbone of our economy, playing an ancillary role in running the country. This became even more evident in the year 2020. With the country and the world going into lockdown the demand for efficient and uninterrupted logistic supply became paramount. Exposure to Diverse Information on Facebook
As people increasingly turn to social networks for news and civic information, questions have been raised about whether this practice leads to the creation of “echo chambers,” in which people are exposed only to information from like-minded individuals [2]. Other speculation has focused on whether algorithms used to rank search results and social media posts could create “filter bubbles,” in which only ideologically appealing content is surfaced [3].
The Not-So-Universal Language of Laughter
Several weeks ago, Sarah Larson from The New Yorker published a fun article about e-laughter (all the hahas and lols we use to communicate with our friends online) and their social subtleties. Like any “dialect,” e-laughing is evolving. Curious as to whether her usage followed up-to-date social norms, she consulted her savvy friends for answers. Anecdotally, she found that laughter tended to vary by age and gender. But why rely on anecdotes when you have data?
