CLAY COUNTY, Mo. (KQTV) -- For anybody looking to swim at Smithville Lake, a swim advisory has been issued for Camp Branch and Little Platte beaches due to elevated E. coli levels. Clay County says E. coli is naturally occurring and can increase after heavy rains or from wildlife. The county will follow the same safety procedures as the state of Missouri. Signs are now posted at both beaches. The beaches are tested every two weeks, with results available on the county website.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- The Noyes Home for Children hosted its 14th annual block party, inviting families out for a day of fun despite humid weather conditions. According to staff, turnout this year was "phenomenal," with hundreds of families enjoying the festivities and the home serving food to over 500 people. The event featured a variety of businesses offering activities including a petting zoo, balloon animals, and DIY workshops.

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (KQTV) -- At around 7:14 p.m. Saturday evening, the St. Joseph Fire Department received a call about a structure fire at 3001 Parkway A. According to SJFD, upon arrival, crews saw thick smoke pushing out of windows and the garage, labeling it as a charged house. The street was blocked off as crews began to battle the smoke, which lasted over an hour. The fire resulted in seven adults and one juvenile being displaced.
