1 Introduction Excessive delays in accessing healthcare services have become commonplace (Siciliani and Hurst 2005; Siciliani et al. 2013; OECD 2020). Some countries have turned to technology to improve access to primary care (OECD 2020).

Explanatory variables. To account for potential confounding in the relationship between adolescent psychological distress and later outcomes, we included explanatory variables in domains of basic demographics, neighborhood environment, family resources, family processes, physical health, school quality, and academic skills, driven by a theory of how mental health problems in adolescence relate to later labor outcomes and human capital formation more broadly [31].

1 Introduction Internal conflicts have severe and long-lasting negative consequences for health and development. Population health is affected not only through the immediate effects of violence exposure on casualties and morbidity, but also – particularly in the case of protracted civil confrontations – by a complex chain of interactions between the government forces, rebel armed groups, and local civilian populations.
