Celebrating Respectful Representations Of Blackness In Gaming
In recognition of some of the diverse narratives in gaming, we present this list of complex black characters that have graced our television screens and PC monitors. After lengthy discussions on the topic, we decided to highlight characters played by and modeled after black talent. In this way, we hope to recognize the staff members who work behind the scenes in conjunction with the characters presented here. Games motivate. More importantly, they have the power to mirror an ever-changing fanbase.

Odd Love: 11 Unconventional Movie Romances for Valentine’s Day
Hollywood has never had a problem bringing perfect couples together, but love, as we all know, isn’t always quite so pat. Some of the most enduring movie romances are those that seem to be the most improbable. That list includes robots finding affection in Wall-E, a zombie having a heart in Warm Bodies and a connection for the ages despite a significant age difference in Harold and Maude.
Libertine Fall 2022 Ready-to-Wear
In lieu of a show, Libertine took a suite at the Plaza Hotel and invited editors to interact with the new pre-fall and fall collections (it was also possible to get a sneak peek at Johnson Hartig’s collaboration with Desigual). The benefit of this approach is that you can touch the clothes; what’s lost is the edit. There were so many racks and so much variation that one started to wonder if there could be a tipping point for excess within the context of a brand whose ethos is more is more.

It might seem counterintuitive, but the first person on board at Wingback was a Fractional Head of Remote — and it was the best decision we made. My co-founder, Torben Friehe, and I knew we wanted to be an asynchronous, fully remote company, and we intended to grow fast.

There are now so many Assassin Creed games that it is rare to find a fan who has actually played every single one. It is Ubisoft's cash cow, and the company knows it. Assassin's Creed, like a lot of huge successful games, came from humble beginnings. We played as Altaïr during the Third Crusade in the Middle East and were wowed by the fun parkour, historical accuracy, and science fiction elements.

Forsaken’s Moments Of Triumph Is “Own The Limited Edition Of Destiny 2″
Hey, remember when Bungie launched an expansion for Destiny 2 and locked out people from getting a trophy because those with the base game had removed the Prestige Nightfall? Remember how apologetic they were and promised they would never do that sort of thing again? “This was an unacceptable lapse on our part, and we can understand the frustration it has created,” they said.
The Season Of The Outlaw Has Begun, Here Are The Destiny 2 Update 2.0.0.1 Patch Notes
I fired up Destiny 2 at the weekend as I knew there would be a huge patch to get the game ready for 2.0 and indeed there was 17.5gb of game to download which I left that running while playing H1z1. Job done, all ready for the launch of the Season of the Outlaw last night.

Destiny 2’s Gambit Mode Will Get Quitting Penalties Tomorrow
If, like me, you had a go on Destiny 2’s Gambit mode over the weekend you will know that if a member of your team drops out of the game you might as well give up, the opposing team will race ahead and win. A lot of people have complained about this and asked why the game won’t drop in a fresh player, as it does with Crucible matches, and vented their frustration on Reddit. “When Forsaken ships on Tuesday, join-in-progress and quitting penalties will be enabled for Gambit.
You May Need A Nice Cup Of Tea And A Sit Down To Read The Huge Destiny 2 2.0 Patch Notes
When I post the Fortnite patch notes we sometimes take a swipe at Destiny 2’s infrequent and rather small patch notes. Clearly they have been reading TSA as the latest patch notes, which take the game to 2.0 ready for the next expansion, Forsaken, and huge. Like, For Got your mug of tea? Then here we go. Developer Insight: With Forsaken, we’ve made a major change to the systems—the freedom to slot powerful weapons in either the Kinetic slot or Energy slot.
Forsaken’s Roadmap Revealed
Bungie have posted a new video which explains how Destiny 2 will grow over the course of the next year, starting with Forsaken’s release next week which will also signal the start of the Season of the Outlaw. Black Armory will follow in December, with Joker’s Wild and Penumbra arriving in 2019, and the Festival of the Lost will also return “with a twist” this October. “The main thing we want to change with year two of Destiny 2 is that there is never a content drought,” say Bungie.
Watch Cayde-6 Being Totally Bad Ass Before Bungie Kill Him
Cayde-6 is by far the best character in Destiny 2 thanks to a stellar performance by Nathan Fillion, but Bungie don’t care and are killing him off for their next expansion, Forsaken. They have said the death is permanent, Cayde-6 won’t be back, but I doubt it. While we wait for the expansion, which launches on September 4th, we have a new cinematic showing Cayde-6 being totally awesome – and then being killed. Happy Friday :( VIDEO Source: YouTube

Bungie have dropped another trailer for Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion and this one focuses on weapons and armour. These include a new bow called Trinity Ghoul, and Two-Tailed Fox, a rocket launcher that fires two rockets at the same time. My favourite is One Thousand Voices, a beam weapon that lets you paint a line of explosive fire on the ground, that looks a lot of fun. We also get to see some new armour including boots that deflect projectiles when you slide. VIDEO Source: YouTube

Two Point Hospital
In a time where anything and everything is fair game for a remaster, remake, sequel or loving homage, it’s perhaps a bit surprising that it’s taken so long for Two Point Hospital to be made. Inspired by the classic Theme Hospital – for many people, the best of the Theme games – and made by a team of Bullfrog, Muckyfoot and Lionhead alumni, there’s good reason to be excited for this game and its quirky, irreverent take on healthcare.

Two Point Hospital’s revolution in the healthcare sector is set for release on 30th August, as the latest game in the management sim revival and a spiritual successor to Theme Hospital. The News At Sixth: 18/07/18
We are half way through the week and as you may recall yesterday was World Emoji Day, because marketing people really have nothing better to do. That got me thinking what sort of made events we have for today and a quick google reveals it is National Hot Dog Day. “Have a hot dog and post on social media using #NationalHotDogDay to encourage others to join in,” is the official advice on how to celebrate.

Following The Aliens: Colonial Marines AI Screw Up, Gearbox List A Job To Check For Typos
A few days ago a modder by the handle of jamesdickinson963 spotted a spelling error in the ini files of Aliens: Colonial Marines noting that the word tether was, in one case, spelt teather. It’s a typo with unfortunate consequences as the zone tether was used for the AI, so the xenomorphs did not behave correctly. As you may recall, one of the big complaints about the game was that the aliens were just stupid, often wandering around in circles and not attacking. “They don’t hunt in groups.
Cayde-6 Played By Nolan North In Destiny 2: Forsaken
When Activision revealed the trailer for Destiny 2: Forsaken something was amiss, why did Cayde-6 sound different? Nathan Fillion, who has just released his Uncharted fan film, has explained that Nolan North is playing the character for the expansion, which means if Ghost and Cayde-6 have a scene together North will be talking to himself. Fillion was keen to stress that there’s no bad blood with Activision, he simply wasn’t available to record Cayde-6’s lines for the expansion.

Tempest 4000 Review
This is the easiest review I will ever have to write. Remember TxK on PlayStation Vita? Tempest 4000 is that, but with prettier graphics in 4K. I should probably write a little more than that for those of you who missed TxK, so here’s the skinny. Tempest 4000 is an official sequel to Tempest 2000, both of which were created by legendary coder Jeff Minter.
