Abstract Sustainable landscape practices in urban residential communities increasingly connect ecological governance, spatial renewal, and residents’ everyday lives in the context of globalization, urbanization, and post-pandemic urban change. However, youth participation at this micro-level remains limited.

Mosques should represent a connection between prayer and God, this symbolization should be reflected in the exterior and interior design. Malaysian mosques characterise a variety of styles, from small traditional structures to massive landmark complexes. While there are more than 5000 mosques in Malaysia, there is not enough literature on the mosque architecture in Malaysia.

Green infrastructure (GI) offers a sustainable solution to urban challenges in residential areas, providing benefits like effective stormwater management, climate mitigation, and improved well-being. This review follows PRISMA guidelines to analyse global case studies and research on GI, evaluating its potential, challenges, and opportunities in residential settings.
