Almost everyone has heard of Adam Smith. He is widely known as the father of modern economics. His work “The Wealth of Nations” had laid a foundation for free market capitalism. Many people associate Smith with self interests, often mistakenly equate it with greed. His market theory that advocates for a limited role of government was misinterpreted to create Laissez-faire economics. This was criticized as a system that widens the inequality of wealth.
