Nottingham City Council has confirmed a by-election could soon be called due to one councillor not turning up to enough meetings this year. The Nottingham Post previously reported that Councillor Nadia Farhat was issued with a warning for not attending a council meeting since January 2026. Some councillors have said they think the city should have been more lenient and allowed Councillor Farhat more chance to go to a meeting.
