Two fishermen have been jailed following a bust up with fisheries inspectors who caught them throwing illegal lobsters overboard when it was docked in the South West. Two officials from Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (Cornwall IFCA) boarded the Amber Mabel fishing boat as it docked at Padstow in April 2025 having fished for lobsters and other molluscs.

Residents living next to a river where more than 5,000 fish died during a "shocking and catastrophic" pollution incident are still waiting for answers one year on. Thousands of Eels, trout, and brook lamprey were among the fish found dead in the White River in Pentewan Valley on June 19 last year when "lime in a liquid form" entered the water. At the time, South West Water blamed the incident on a third-party delivery of liquid lime to one of its plants.

Two fishermen have been jailed following a bust up with fisheries inspectors who caught them throwing illegal lobsters overboard. Two officials from Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authorities (Cornwall IFCA) boarded the Amber Mabel fishing boat as it docked at Padstow in April 2025 having fished for lobsters and other molluscs. As the officers approached the boat they were spotted by the skipper Ashley Rescorla who shouted "f*ck it's them" before disappearing below deck.
