Steven Heil, who graduated from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 2015, has already been recognized at national festivals for his work in film. OSHKOSH - After nearly six years of dedication to improve racial literacy in the community, Fit Oshkosh dissolved Thursday. The nonprofit organization voted the first week of April to dissolve, Executive Director Tracey Robertson said. "It was difficult initially, but I knew it was right," she said. In a post on the organization's now defunct Facebook page, Robertson said she worked "sacrificially" to improve race relations in Oshkosh and the larger community.

Crash closes Ohio Street and Sixth Avenue in Oshkosh
OSHKOSH - Two people were injured in a hit-and-run crash involving a motorcycle Friday morning, causing the closure of two streets near the south side of the city. At least 1 person injured after car collides with train Thursday night in Oshkosh
OSHKOSH - At least one person was injured when a car collided with a train late Thursday on the city's north side. Police responded about 11 p.m. Thursday to the crash in the 2900 block of North Main Street. It was unclear whether anyone was taken to the hospital, police said Friday morning. Initial reports were unclear about how many people were in the vehicle. Investigators determined the train was traveling east at 10 mph, and the car was going south at 35 mph when they collided.

Authorities responded to the crash about 9 a.m. The vehicle was southbound on County Road A when it crashed, Winnebago County Sheriff Lt. Tim Eichman said. That’s exactly what senior Ryan DeLoge hoped would happen when he proposed expanding a bike library to the university’s Green Fund. OSHKOSH - Walking into the Morgan House is like stepping back in time. Ornate designs cover the walls and ceilings, many of which were the original choices of the Morgan family who built the home in 1884. John Rogers Morgan was a founder of the Morgan Brothers Lumber Co. Today, his bright red ledgers stand tall behind a desk in the home's library. The Winnebago County Historical and Archaeological Society has decorated the home at 234 Church Street with pieces from the Victorian era.
One person was killed in a fire in Waushara County on Tuesday
TOWN OF BLOOMFIELD - One person was killed Tuesday in a fire in Waushara County. Authorities responded at 8:50 p.m. to a report of a house on fire on North County Road A in the town of Bloomfield, according to a release. The house was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. Police said they believe the homeowner was inside during the fire, but the condition of the house required a slow and cautious search. The cause of the fire has not been determined and the fire is still under investigation.
