The latest NSS data reveal the absence of a structured adult immunisation programme despite a rapidly ageing population. Adult vaccination in India remains overwhelmingly market-driven, with most vaccines accessed privately. Beyond pregnancy-linked Td boosters, public provision for adult immunisation is largely absent.
