Owen Sinclair’s Biography
A former deputy budget director with the Nassau County Office of Management and Budget, Owen Sinclair received a 2008 commendation for “excellence in service and character” from the Nassau County Executive. Before entering the public sphere in 2002, he performed portfolio, operations, and budget analysis for a number of large corporations, including Nikko Capital Management and the Prudential Insurance Company. Owen Sinclair also invented and patented an educational board game, and was a freelance mathematics tutor for high school and college students.
Mr. Sinclair most recently served tenures as a budget manager with the Police Athletic League of New York City and as a bookkeeper with the Sousa Mendes Foundation, a nonprofit organization that honors the heroic acts of Portuguese diplomat Aristides de Sousa Mendes. Outside of the professional arena, Owen Sinclair is a dedicated son, who is currently caring for his elderly mother. He is an avid dog lover, and is making plans to volunteer at the local Humane Society.
