But a skier who is not only the best all-rounder in the world but a master of three disciplines was left without a single gold at Milano Cortina 2026 after Lucas Pinheiro Braathen denied the Swiss the defence of his Giant Slalom title in Bormio on Saturday (14 February). Odermatt was second behind the Brazilian after the first run on the Stelvio.

Lucas Pinheiro Braathen put himself in a great position to secure Brazil's first-ever Winter Olympics medal as he finished almost a second faster than Marco Odermatt in Run 1 of the men's Giant Slalom in Bormio on Saturday (14 February). The 25-year-old may become the latest skier to deny Odermatt a gold medal on the Stelvio at these Games, after posting a time of 1:13.92. Swiss star Odermatt is the defending gold medallist and was +0.95 seconds behind the Brazilian.
