Parisa Burton’s Biography

My name is Parisa Burton and I am a senior marketing major and journalism minor at The College of New Jersey. I have diverse journalism experience, from writing for my school newspaper (The Signal) and for the TCNJ chapter of HER Campus magazine. I served as a news fellow for CivicStory during my Spring 2024 semester, a non-profit news organization where I embraced solutions-based reporting to shine light on local sustainability and civic action initiatives.

Additionally, I gained experience in SEO blog writing and content creation during a summer 2023 web design and marketing internship with Techdesigno. My dedication to journalism hasn't gone unnoticed in college, as I will take on the role of the Opinions editor for the Signal and the News and Entertainment Editor for Her Campus magazine this Fall 2024 semester.

My experiences have taken me beyond the classroom and even across the globe. Studying abroad in Milan during my Fall 2023 semester enriched my cultural understanding of journalism and broadened my global perspective through coursework in digital journalism and publishing.
