The Niagara region got its first early taste of winter on Sunday, with several inches accumulating around Western New York. Well, early is a relative term. People here are used to snow as early as October. After all, we all have memories of trick or treating in the snow. So while it technically may be early in the season, it's pretty normal for all of us. That being said, it's snowed every day since Sunday. People are wondering when it will end, so they can stop worrying about brushing off their car.

Why Was The New York State Thruway Built?

The New York State Thruway. Interstate 90. The 90, as it's called in Western New York. Whatever you call it, chances are you will drive on it one way or another today if you live in New York. I-90 connects almost all of New York State's major Cities: New York City, Albany, Utica, Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo. It essentially replaced the Erie Canal as the "Gateway To The West." Buy why? Yes, it may seem obvious, but this video explains it quite clearly. This footage is from 1951.

The South Towns, in particular, are expected to receive the most snow, as is usual in our region.
