President Donald Trump on June 1, 2026, issued a new proclamation, "Further Adjusting the Tariff Regimes for Imports of Aluminum, Steel, and Copper into the U.S." Effective June 8, 2026, through December 31, 2027, the proclamation provides Trade Expansion Act of 1962 Section 232 tariff reduction for several new categories of aluminum, steel and copper derivatives.
