Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Negatory.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Pursuing the truth and informing others with vigor and tenacity.

What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?

Probably something related to our ill-fated friend the Florida Man.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love meeting new people and hearing about their passions. The best part – I get to share their passion with others through stories.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My in-depth look at where to find jazz music in Orlando.

When's the best time to pitch you?

After I've had my morning coffee. Give me 'til about 11 a.m. or so.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

The Monkey Mixer, which can hold up to 2,400 gallons of liquid, resembles a cement truck, complete with a rotating cocktail shaker.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

A brief about multiple web cameras being able to be viewed in one browser window. (Where's the story?)

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Out for a run in one of Orlando's parks or along a trail.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

The New York Times.
