Imitation hand gun leads to bus being stopped in 100 Mile House - Williams Lake Tribune

100 Mile House responded to reports of a man in possession of an apparent handgun in 100 Mile House last week. The incident occurred on Saturday, June 6, when Sgt. Brian Lamb said the RCMP received a report of a man possessing “what appeared to be a handgun” who was riding on a bus travelling through 100 Mile House. Lamb said the bus stopped in 100 Mile House and the bus was safely evacuated before officers moved in.

Chasm Creek wildfire now being held at 37.5 hectares - Clearwater Times

A wildfire north of Chasm Creek is now being held by the BC Wildfire Service. Since Saturday, May 9, the BCWS has been fighting a fire five kilometres east of Chasm Road, which has been visible from Highway 97. As of Tuesday, May 12, the wildfire is now listed as being held at 37.5 hectares. The BCWS believe the wildfire was caused by a lightning strike. As of an update issued on Monday, May 11, BCWS assigned helicopters and 38 BCWS firefighting personnel to contain the fire.
