Patrick Ryan is a reporter at WIVB/WNLO-TV News 4 Buffalo and a Western New York native.

Patrick joined the News 4 team in Nov. 2020 as a digital producer.

In that role, he wrote breaking news articles and more across the platforms of WIVB.com. He previously worked as a newsroom intern for News 4.

In Oct. 2022, Patrick moved on-air at News 4, becoming a general assignment reporter.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — New York State Thruway Authority leaders took to the water on Wednesday to survey the Grand Island bridges as officials discuss short- and long-term plans for the structures. Work on the South bridges is already underway, costing $54 million. Of that total, $39 million is coming from a federal grant. The rest is being paid by the Thruway Authority. The work includes seismic retrofitting, bearing replacements and steel repairs.

Police: Car thefts on the rise in Clarence Original

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — With car thefts on the rise, officials say Clarence has become a new target. Between July 18 and 21, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said 11 cars were reported stolen out of Clarence. Officials said seven of those cars were recovered in Buffalo. Three cars were recovered in Clarence, and one has not yet been recovered. Deputies also recovered an unoccupied car on Greiner Road in Clarence that was reported stolen from Buffalo.
