Updated July 14, 2026, 10:27 a.m. CT South Dakota State is the preseason favorite to win the Missouri Valley Football Conference, according to a voting panel of coaches, information directors and media. South Dakota State earned 28 of the 36 first-place votes, and were the runaway favorites to win the league. The Jackrabbits went 9-5 a season ago, but return a bunch of their top players. That includes quarterback Chase Mason, who was named to the preseason Walter Payton Award Watch List.

Eli Anema, Katie Wold both win second Sioux Falls Golf championship Original

Eli Anema and Katie Wold each won their second Sioux Falls Golf City Championship on Saturday, June 28, at Prairie Green Golf Course. Both golfers took different paths to their victories and are at very different points of their competitive careers. The first day of competition, Friday, June 27, was at Elmwood Golf Course, and the second day was at Prairie Green. Anema is entering his junior year at Indiana Wesleyan University, an NAIA program.

Former Roosevelt star Jack Radel taken by Astros in MLB Draft Original

July 11, 2026, 2:58 p.m. CT Former Sioux Falls Roosevelt Roosevelt standout Jack Radel was taken in the first round, 28th overall, by the Houston Astros in the 2026 MLB Draft. Radel spent the last three seasons at Notre Dame, throwing 211 innings to a 3.71 ERA. He became an ace in the ACC this season, throwing 87.2 innings with 116 strikeouts and a 3.29 ERA. He was a First Team All-ACC selection in 2026, and a Third Team All-American for D1Baseball and Perfect Game.
