Paul Gillin’s Biography

Paul Gillin is an independent writer, speaker and journalist who specializes in enterprise technology topics. Since 2014 he has served as Enterprise Editor of the tech news site SiliconAngle, where he specializes in cloud computing and data analytics. He also works on custom content programs for a wide range of IT companies.

He was founding editor-in-chief of B2B technology publisher TechTarget, where he grew the editorial staff from two to more than 70 journalists over five years. Previously, he was editor-in-chief and executive editor of the technology weekly Computerworld for 15 years.

Paul was one of the first journalists to understand the enormous impact that social media would have on business and culture, a phenomenon he documented in his 2007 best-selling book, The New Influencers. He spent 10 years advising companies such as Disney, Procter & Gamble, IBM and Corning about how to use social media to connect with customers. During that period, he authored four more books and more than 500 articles about social media and digital marketing.

Paul is a Senior Research Fellow at the Conference Board’s Marketing & Communications Center. His website is gillin.com.
