What was your first job as a journalist?
Staff Writer on ST Action magazine in 1990.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
I have indeed, when I was a kid.
How is social media changing news?
It's making it more untrustworthy but, in the moment, more essential.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It's exciting and a privilege to have my work take up people's precious time.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?
My brain is my weapon of choice, other than that I use a PC in the main.
What's your favorite social network?
I think they are all dangerous but find myself using Twitter the most.

Why did you become a journalist?
Always had a love to words and writing instilled in me by by father as a kid.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Too many to choose.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
The person telling you what they want may not always be right, but they will want what they want so give it to them.
What's your favorite drink?
Again, too many to have a favourite!

With family
