Kadenge is a household name in Kenya, courtesy of the the late Joe Kadenge whose football exploits for both Harambee Stars and AFC Leopards in his prime evoke memories of world class talent. His grandson Mark Joe Kadenge, 22, is cutting a different but a related niche, his passion and focus shifting to Sports and Fitness industry.

The Kenya Footballers Welfare Association (KEFWA) is set to hold the first-ever non-contracted players selection which will be held from Tuesday, 28th September at Two Rivers Sports District Grounds, located alongside The Two Rivers Mall. The event will be targeting Kenyan football players who are out of contract with an aim of reviving their careers, making them fit and marketing them to other clubs by linking them up with club officials and scouts.

In one of his most famous works, renowned American poet, social activist, novelist, playwright, and columnist James Mercer Langston Hughes once wrote a poem dubbed, “Mother to Son”. In the poem, the mother urges the son to stay strong and keep moving because life hasn’t been and is not a crystal stair. From boards torn up, facing the most tumultuous moments of life, the mother urges the son to keep trying, to keep moving because that is how life is.
