What was your first job as a journalist?
As with most people, I started as (and am still) a Freelance Contributor. Hard, scary, but rewarding nonetheless.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes, I'd write everything on a typewriter if it was a viable option!
How is social media changing news?
Social Media isn't changing news, it's becoming the news.
What's the funniest news-related #hashtag you've seen?
- Referring to the Moogle design in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. It looked like a cursed Koala, and it's still unnerving.
Why did you become a journalist?
Because writing is my passion, and work feels less work-ish when you're doing something that you love!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Keep writing and pushing to improve, and learn SEO! You're going to need that skill.
When's the best time to pitch you?
Any time. I'm happy to look at pitches whenever they pop up, and will always consider them if I can.
What's your favorite drink?
If I was forced to be honest, I'd say anything with caffeine in it. It's terrible for me, I know, but it can't be helped.
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
Spending time with my family.
