The electric 2027 Kia PV7 commercial van has been previewed ahead of its global debut in September 2026. Based on a version of the South Korean automaker’s E-GMP architecture – which underpins the Kia EV6 and EV9, as well as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Ioniq 6, and Ioniq 9 electric SUVs – the PV7 is expected to be the largest model in Kia’s growing electric van lineup, sitting above the recently released PV5.

The Volkswagen Golf Hybrid and T-Roc Hybrid are now available for pre-order in Germany, and, as such, full specifications about the new drivetrain are now online. As we discovered earlier this year, the system pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with a pair of electric motors, with one acting as a generator and the other as a drive motor, either by itself or in conjunction with the petrol engine.

Small car sales have continued on their downward trajectory in Australia, even as more Chinese brands leap into the fray. This year, the electric GAC Aion UT was launched on the Australian market, along with the new MG 4 EV Urban which appears in the mainstream (ie: under $45,000) small car category in the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries’ monthly VFACTS reports; the existing MG 4 EV sits in the $45,000-plus small-car segment.

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job was at a website I created writing about cars. Fast forward 10 years and I still write about cars and absolutely love it!

How is social media changing news?

It's bringing immediacy to news, but it's also adding a real element. Reporting from members of the public is more important now than ever.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use an endless supply of tools. Sometimes I shoot my own video, edit my own photos...so it's everything from Microsoft Word to Photoshop.
