Santa Barbara-based ShelterBox USA has announced it is responding in the Philippines after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake struck off the island of Mindanao. The disaster relief agency, which has a lengthy record of responses in the Philippines and emergency supplies pre-positioned in Cebu, is preparing to support 15,000 people with shelter aid and other essentials, organizers said.
