A world title win over Lewis Crocker next month could set Liam Paro on the path to a mouth-watering showdowns with boxing royalty including Manny Pacquiao, Rolly Romero, Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney. And those fights could all be held in Australia. Paro (27-1, 16KOs) is deep in training for his June 24 IBF welterweight world title fight with Crocker at Pat Rafter Arena in Brisbane, where a victory will propel him into stardom in one of the sport’s glamour divisions.

Latrell Mitchell injury fear as Rabbitohs star’s NSW Origin availability becomes increasingly uncertain

There were mixed reviews for a host of State of Origin hopefuls as the Dolphins overcame a late scare to defeat the South Sydney Rabbitohs 32-10 on Friday night at Magic Round. But all eyes will be on Latrell Mitchell after the gun centre left the field for an early mark. Mitchell, of course, missed last week’s game with a back injury and appeared to be in discomfort late in the second half before coming to the bench with seven minutes left.
