It’s been nearly 15 years since a Tunisian street vendor named Mohamed Bouazizi changed the shape of Middle Eastern politics by setting himself on fire in the city of Sidi Bouzid. This desperate act had, in many ways, been the culmination of decades of economic stagnation and corruption haunting the people of Tunisia.
