10 Tips For Softening Ice Cream Faster
Whether we're looking to beat the heat or obtain brain freeze in a wintery wonderland, we all scream for ice cream all year round. But, ironically, this frozen dessert might be too rock-hard to enjoy straight from the freezer. All too often we pry off the lid in anticipation and spend the next few minutes chipping away for a sizable chunk, leaving a trail of bent spoons, a messy counter, and maybe even some loud, impatient tykes waiting around for a scoop.
Vasculature segmentation in 3D hierarchical phase-contrast tomography images of human kidneys
Abstract Efficient algorithms are needed to segment vasculature in new 3D medical imaging datasets at scale for research and clinical applications. Manual segmentation of vessels in images is time-consuming and expensive whereas computational approaches have limited accuracy. We organize a global machine learning competition, engaging 1,401 participants, to promote development of deep learning methods for 3D blood vessel segmentation in Hierarchical Phase-Contrast Tomography (HiP-CT) datasets.
Replacing warships with drones is not an upgrade in capability
Britain’s Defence Investment Plan (DIP) marks a significant shift in military priorities. Over four years, an additional £15 billion will take spending up to £298 billion overall. This includes £63 billion to fund nuclear deterrence and £8 billion for future combat aircraft. But its most attention-grabbing headline concerns the maritime domain. The Type 83 was meant to be Britain’s next great destroyer with cutting edge capabilities. It would have replaced the Type 45 class from around 2035.
From experimentation to execution: where agentic AI is delivering real value
Across the industry, organizations are moving beyond generative AI tools that respond to prompts, towards more autonomous systems that can plan, act and adapt with increasing independence. "Agentic AI” is less about standalone tools and more about embedding intelligence into the core of how work gets done. Importantly, this is not a distant prospect. It is already taking shape in live environments.

Hello, this is my first 1031. I want to find a QI. Google it and find Deferred.com with no fee. This is surprised cheap. And I check the review, it shows good review on Trustpilot. By Peter Lee, IAEA Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications An IAEA research project involving 27 countries has strengthened global understanding of how exposure to ionizing radiation affects human health. The project focused on the clinical applications of biodosimetry – how measuring biological responses can be used to estimate the amount of ionizing radiation a patient receives.
How would a 'drone wall' help stop incursions into European airspace?
Violations of national airspace by drones are on the rise in Europe. When European leaders discussed these events at a meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, in October 2025, they responded by announcing plans for a defensive "drone wall." So what is a drone wall? Put simply, it is a network of sensors, electronic warfare equipment and weapons. This "multi-layered" defensive wall is intended to detect, track and neutralize incursions by uncrewed aircraft—drones.

Russia turns to an old ally in its war against Ukrainian drones: the weather
Russia has long used harsh weather as a defensive ally. During Napoleon’s 1812 invasion, his Grand Army was defeated as winter closed in – the ground became impassable and logistical support to his army collapsed. Similarly, Hitler’s Operation Barbarossa in 1941-42 was halted by heavy rains and deep mud followed by freezing temperatures. Today, in a different kind of war, Russia is again turning to its old ally, harsh weather – but this time to help in its offensive against Ukraine.

Long-term cost-effectiveness analysis of rugby fans in training-New Zealand: a body weight reduction programme for males
Discussion Our cost-effectiveness analysis demonstrated that participation in the RUFIT-NZ lifestyle intervention was unlikely to be cost-effective relative to no intervention. This was as the marginal benefit attributed to participating in RUFIT-NZ (0.02 QALYs gained per person) driven by a reduction in T2DM events was outweighed by the additional costs ($863 per person).

The Classic Horror Film Board-'Lesbian' horror, 'Vampyres'
Vampyres - I bought this DVD recently and watched it today. It was made in 1974, in the UK, on a shoestring budget. Mainly there's a caravan and a big house which, I am informed, was just rented out to the film crew for a few weeks. It's a simple story of two young women who are also lesbian vampire lovers. It's a sort of soft core porn film (popular in the UK in the 1970s) meets bloodsuckers.
14 Presidents Whose Elections Were Defined By Food
In 1992, when vice presidential hopeful Dan Quayle misspelled "potato" at a sixth-grade spelling bee, the nation gave him a good-natured ribbing. But personal embarrassment aside, Quayle might have sensed that his grammar school slip of the tongue could mushroom into a serious campaign bugaboo. Politicians have long known that the best way to get to a voter's heart is through his stomach.
11 Myths About Canned Corned Beef You Need To Stop Believing
"The Scarlet Letter" author Nathaniel Hawthorne had a pretty glum view of the human condition; however, he did have a soft spot for corned beef. With a sniff of pride for his own "skillful cookery," Hawthorne declared corned beef "as such a masterpiece in its way that it seems irreverential to eat it." It came into being largely as a European army ration, and this history has weighed down the dish with plenty of myths and urban legends.
New Radiotherapy Technique For Treating Head And Neck Cancer Could Reduce Treatment Times By Nearly Half
By Peter Lee, IAEA Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications More people with head and neck cancer in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) may be able to access radiotherapy, after research carried out by the IAEA showed that fewer but higher doses of radiation treatment resulted in similar clinical outcomes to standard radiotherapy treatments.

Experience: my house is Insta-famous
Peter Lee: ‘On a sunny weekend, there can be crowds on the street.’ When I first saw the house on my walk to work, I immediately fell in love. It’s a 19th-century, three-storey property on the corner of a quiet residential street in Notting Hill, west London. Its brick walls were painted baby pink, and I knew I had to have it. Back then, in the 70s, I was managing the fashion designer Ossie Clark, and it was an exciting time to be in west London. Notting Hill has always been very colourful.

When shoppers venture into the supermarket candy aisle, it isn't exactly like getting a golden ticket into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Aside from the lack of warbling Oompa-Loompas, the candy selection can be pretty standard -- think the time-tested standards, like Hershey's and Nestlé.
