Hello, good evening and welcome to ABC's live online coverage of the 2026 Commonwealth Games! It's day two of competition in Glasgow, and it has a lot to live up to after Australia's big haul of six gold medals on day one. I'm Andrew McGarry and with me on the Australian end of things are Gemma Ferguson and James Tugwell, while our Glaswegian Games correspondent is Jon Healy. Later on, we'll have Luke Pentony, Hanan Dervisevic and Peter Marsh to take you through the wee hours into the morning.

(Getty) Organisers have given us a few details about what to expect from tonight's show, which will be a celebration of everything Scotland and Glasgow. The humour, culture and "small but mighty" spirit of the country that gave us William Wallace, Danny Bhoy and Ronnie Corbett is the sort of thing you'd expect.

To all the fans of the Big N, very sorry to break the news that Nintendo won't be making an appearance at Summer Game Fest. In a tweet in May, Nintendo confirmed they'd be holding their own Direct presentation sometime this June, but it would only feature games coming out in the second half of this year. As for news of the Switch 2, Nintendo said they'd make an announcement about it sometime in this fiscal year. But, that's the Japanese fiscal year, which runs April 1 to March 31.
