Phaedra Patrick author interview | The Time Hop Coffee Shop book
I think all my books have a fairy tale feel about them and The Time Hop Coffee Shop took things a few steps further, leaning more deeply into magical realism. I loved the idea of writing about a family who were once famous for starring in coffee commercials. My US editor, Erika, floated the idea that Greta might actually wake up living inside a commercial. It was a great concept and I was open to exploring it further.

8 Novels That Explore The Pros And The Cons Of The Writerly Life
Writing fiction is not about conjuring up a new life. Rather, it’s the reinvention of a life we have already lived. By writing fiction we more meaningfully engage with our lived experiences and make sense of them. However, the life of a writer is far from glamorous and is rife with highs and lows. How feasible is writing as a career? Is it a financially viable option? How much of our craft do we owe to others? When do we start calling ourselves a writer?

Book review: 'The Secrets of Love Story Bridge' a romantic mystery to lift your spirits
It’s a perfect time for another charming novel from Phaedra Patrick. I’ve been trying to read a rather dark, heavy novel that has been on my to-read list for years. With everything going on in the world right now, I just couldn’t keep reading it. I’ve had to set it aside for another time. “The Secrets of Love Story Bridge,” however, is exactly the opposite kind of book. Patrick has populated her book with everyday people, flawed but with the best of intentions.
