Driver fined $490 for restroom stop on Vietnam expressway

The violation was detected on June 13 by Highway Traffic Police Team No. 3 during a patrol on the Hanoi–Nghe An Expressway. The coach stopped on a section of road with only two traffic lanes and no emergency lane, forcing several vehicles behind it to take evasive action to avoid a collision. Although the driver switched on the vehicle’s hazard lights, he failed to place warning signs at least 150 meters behind the coach as required by traffic regulations.

Helmetless boy overtakes car at 80 kph, exposing deadly modified e-bike threats

On May 10, a dashcam mounted on a car traveling along a road in the northern Hung Yen Province at around 80-85 kph captured one such incident. An electric motorbike suddenly sped past it at apparently much higher speed. Based on the footage, the electric bike may have been traveling at around 90-100 kph, overtaking the car by dozens of meters within just one or two seconds. The rider was a young boy without a helmet, and the vehicle had no license plate.

Infrared optical constants n , κ , and absorption of topological insulator BiSb thin films determined by the reflectance-transmittance technique

In this work, we measure the infrared optical constants (n, κ) of topological insulator BiSb thin films using the reflectance-transmittance method. Using the obtained (n, κ), we reveal that Bi, Bi0.9Sb0.1, and Bi0.85Sb0.15 show absorption of about 30% for film thicknesses around 20 nm and a large refractive index ranging from 6 to 9 in the infrared region. Our results suggest that BiSb has strong potential as a material for MIR detectors. © 2026 Optica Publishing Group.
