1 Introduction Foreign body aspiration tends to occur in children and the elderly rather than healthy adults [1]. Most adult patients with foreign body aspiration have identifiable risk factors, including neurological deficits with swallowing difficulties, neuromuscular disease, altered mental status, or intoxication [2]. These foreign bodies may be composed of metallic or plastic materials, but most commonly are organic matter such as bone or vegetables [2].
