A 2008 article on the Army's website noted that he completed Korean Ranger School, Air Assault, Airborne, Jumpmaster and HALO schools. Morgan was also involved in two major overseas deployments: first to Panama in 1989 (Operation Just Cause) and then to Iraq (in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm).
