Molecular level simulation and analysis of removal of sulfur, nitrogen and carbon residue in residual oil hydrotreating process
With the deepening of the heavy and inferior degree of crude oil, the position of hydrotreating technology [1], [2] in the oil refining industry is more and more important. Since unconventional crude oil [3] reserves are huge and difficult to process, improving the utilization rate of petroleum resources [4] and strengthening environmental protection requirements [5], [6] are the major challenges in the current refining industry.
A drift-aware dynamic ensemble model with two-stage member selection for carbon price forecasting
Global climate change has become one of the most serious ecological environment problems in contemporary society, and excessive carbon emissions continue to exacerbate this problem. Driven by the Kyoto Protocol policies, the European Union Emissions Trading System was launched to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in 2005 [1]. The scheme provides an important demonstration of carbon market construction for other countries or regions.
Histone marks identify novel transcription factors that parse CAR-T subset-of-origin, clinical potential and expansion - Nature Communications
Abstract Chimeric antigen receptor-modified T cell (CAR-T) immunotherapy has revolutionised blood cancer treatment. Parsing the genetic underpinnings of T cell quality and CAR-T efficacy is challenging. Transcriptomics inform CAR-T state, but the nature of dynamic transcription during activation hinders identification of transiently or minimally expressed genes, such as transcription factors, and over-emphasises effector and metabolism genes.

Liquid foam improves potency and safety of gene therapy vectors - Nature Communications
Abstract Interest in gene therapy medicines is intensifying as the first wave of gene-correcting drugs is now reaching patient populations. However, efficacy and safety concerns, laborious manufacturing protocols, and the high cost of the therapeutics are still significant barriers in gene therapy. Here we describe liquid foam as a vehicle for gene delivery.
A Sulfur-Host design for Adsorption/Catalysis strong synergy on polysulfide conversions via CoB/NCPS composites inheriting the polyhedron morphology of Metal-Organic framework
Given the increasing challenges related to energy and the environment, and the rapidly growing demand for electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and portable electronic devices, the urgent pursuit of high energy density and power density systems has been triggered [1], [2]. However, the development of conventional lithium-ion batteries based on lithium intercalation electrochemistry is limited in terms of their energy density and theoretical capacity [3], [4].
Recent progress toward molecular-level kinetic model for complex hydrocarbon conversion processes
Complex molecular systems, such as coal, petroleum, and biomass, are available extensively in chemical engineering. Simulating and optimizing complex molecular conversion systems is a primary challenge in the chemical reaction engineering field. Petroleum refining is a typically complex reaction system, characterized by complex feedstock composition, complex reaction mechanism, and complex product distribution. The operating conditions of the devices directly affect product distribution.
Unconventional superconductivity in Cr-based compound Pr3Cr10−xN11 - npj Quantum Materials
Abstract We report results of specific heat and muon spin relaxation (μSR) measurements on a polycrystalline sample of Pr3Cr10−xN11, which shows superconducting state below Tc = 5.25 K, a large upper critical field Hc2 ~ 20 T and a residual Sommerfeld coefficient γ0. The field dependence of γ0(H) resembles γ of the U-based superconductors UTe2 and URhGe at low temperatures.
Light-Induced Melting of Competing Stripe Orders without Introducing Superconductivity in ${\mathrm{La}}_{2\ensuremath{-}x}{\mathrm{Ba}}_{x}{\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$
Popular Summary The discovery of transient, light-induced superconductivity in high-temperature superconducting cuprates (HTSCs) has sparked both interest and controversy. One problem is that the observational signature of the transient superconductivity is itself vague: Recent experiments suggest it cannot distinguish between electron Cooper pairs that give rise to superconductivity and quasiparticles with very low scattering rates.
Social determinants of health and epigenetic clocks: a systematic review and meta-analysis of 140 studies
Abstract Social determinants of health—such as socioeconomic status (SES) and race and ethnicity—strongly shape health. Individuals with lower SES or marginalized identities experience earlier onset of disease and shorter lifespans. ‘Epigenetic clocks’ measure biological ageing and are increasingly used to study healthy ageing, yet it remains unclear which clocks are most sensitive to social inequality.

Origin of large magnetoresistance in the topological nonsymmorphic semimetal ${\mathrm{TaSe}}_{3}$
Abstract TaSe3 is a layered van der Waals semimetal with several inverted band gaps throughout the entire Brillouin zone and nontrivial Z2 topological indices, which place it at the boundary between a strong and a weak topological phase. Our transport experiments reveal a quadratic nonsaturating magnetoresistance (MR) with values reaching 104% at 1.8 K and 14 T, whose origins have to be searched in the material's band structure.

Decreasing trend of bone mineral density in US multiethnic population: analysis of continuous NHANES 2005-2014
Studies examining recent bone mineral density (BMD) trends in the US population are limited. In our study, we found that age-adjusted mean BMD among US men and women was stable from 2005 to 2010, but then declined in 2013–2014. We also explored factors associated with decreasing BMD in recent years. Osteoporosis prevalence in the USA declined between 1988 and 2006, while the declining trend in hip fracture may have plateaued in 2013–2014.
Improving Service Quality Of Wireline-run Cement Plug Operations
Cement plugs are widely used to achieve zonal isolation in well intervention or plug-and-abandonment applications. Plug cementing operations can be performed during operations to restore or increase production, such as by altering the gas-oil ratio or by controlling water production. Cement plugs isolate a certain well zone (e.g., depleted zone), providing options to perforate a new well zone or temporarily or permanently abandon a well or a specific well zone.

Genetic profiling of decreased bone mineral density in an independent sample of Caucasian women
Genetic risk of low bone mineral density in women remains unclear. This study found that a large percentage of Caucasian women have a high genetic risk of osteoporosis, and genetic risk scores are significantly associated with BMD variation in a bone healthy sample of Caucasian women. We aimed to examine the distribution of risk alleles in an independent sample and to determine if such genetic components are associated with bone mineral density (BMD) variation in the sample.

Tollip SNP rs5743899 modulates human airway epithelial responses to rhinovirus infection
Rhinovirus (RV) infection in asthma induces varying degrees of airway inflammation (e.g. neutrophils), but the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. The major goal was to determine the role of genetic variation [e.g. single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs)] of Toll-interacting protein (Tollip) in airway epithelial responses to RV in a type 2 cytokine milieu. DNA from blood of asthmatic and normal subjects was genotyped for Tollip SNP rs5743899 AA, AG and GG genotypes.
