Chemical heterogeneity for battery materials
Abstract Next-generation rechargeable batteries require materials that offer enhanced electrochemical capabilities. Achieving these goals depends on understanding the fundamental principles governing these materials, which presents challenges associated to the complex interactions between composition, structural characteristics and electrochemical performance in battery materials.
Dual-gradient metal layer for practicalizing high-energy lithium batteries - Nature Communications
Abstract Pairing high-energy nickel-rich cathodes with current collectors as anodes presents a compelling strategy to significantly boost the specific energy of rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, driving progress toward a transportation revolution. However, the limited active lithium inventory sourced by the cathodes tend to be rapidly consumed by irreversible Li plating/stripping and interfacial side reactions.
Beneficial redox activity of halide solid electrolytes empowering high-performance anodes in all-solid-state batteries - Nature Materials
Abstract All-solid-state batteries receive ample attention due to their promising safety characteristics and energy density. The latter holds true if they are compatible with next-generation high-capacity anodes, but most highly ion-conductive solid electrolytes decompose at low operating potentials, leading to lithium loss and increased cell resistances. Here the dynamic stability of solid electrolytes that can improve all-solid-state battery performance is demonstrated.
Ionic potential for battery materials - Nature Reviews Materials
Abstract Developing high-performance rechargeable batteries requires a revolutionary advancement in battery materials, guided by a fundamental understanding of their underlying science and mechanisms. However, this task remains a challenge owing to the complex relationship among composition, structure and property in electrode and electrolyte materials.

Photochemical‐, Electrochemical‐, and Photoelectrochemical‐ Catalyzed Hydrogen Atom Transfer from Aldehydes to Acyl Radicals and Their Transformations
Acyl radical has assumed an eminent position in the synthetic chemistry due to its unique and often highly reactive nature. Using aldehyde as acyl radical source does not require the prefunctionalization of substrate. Furthermore, the formation of acyl radical can be achieved through a hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) process.

Grain-Boundary-Rich Interphases for Rechargeable Batteries Original
Introduction Click to copy section linkSection link copied! The pursuit of high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries stand as a critical imperative in contemporary energy research, driven by the increasing demand for efficient and sustainable energy storage solutions. (1,2) This evolution necessitates batteries with enhanced energy density, calling for electrodes with higher specific capacities, such as transition-metal oxide cathodes (3,4) combined with Li-metal/silicon-based anodes.
Chemical short-range disorder in lithium oxide cathodes - Nature
Abstract Ordered layered structures serve as essential components in lithium (Li)-ion cathodes1,2,3. However, on charging, the inherently delicate Li-deficient frameworks become vulnerable to lattice strain and structural and/or chemo-mechanical degradation, resulting in rapid capacity deterioration and thus short battery life2,4.
Fast-charge high-voltage layered cathodes for sodium-ion batteries - Nature Sustainability
Abstract Sodium-ion batteries have not only garnered substantial attention for grid-scale energy storage owing to the higher abundance of sodium compared with lithium, but also present the possibility of fast charging because of the inherently higher sodium-ion mobility. However, it remains a phenomenal challenge to achieve a combination of these merits, given the complex structural chemistry of sodium-ion oxide materials.
Designing lithium halide solid electrolytes - Nature Communications
Abstract All-solid-state lithium batteries have attracted widespread attention for next-generation energy storage, potentially providing enhanced safety and cycling stability. The performance of such batteries relies on solid electrolyte materials; hence many structures/phases are being investigated with increasing compositional complexity.
Vibration Parameters Identification of Rotating Blades Based on Blade Tip-Timing Sensor Waveforms
Abstract : Blade tip-timing is one of the most widely used non-contact measurement methods for rotating blade vibration. The classic blade tip-timing method is to identify the vibration parameters of the blade based on the time of blade tip arrival to the tip-timing sensor installed on the casing.

Rational design of layered oxide materials for sodium-ion batteries
Layering the charge Layered metal oxides such as lithium cobalt oxide have attracted great attention for rechargeable batteries. In lithium cells, only the octahedral structure forms, but in sodium cells, trigonal prismatic structures are also possible. However, there is a lack of understanding about how to predict and control the formation of each structure. Zhao et al.
