1 Introduction Aortic aneurysms (AA) have a high incidence globally, and only surgical treatment is an option once AA occurs. Approximately 13% of men and 6% of women aged over 65 have been diagnosed with abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) in the United States, with around 2 million new cases arising each year (1). The incidence of thoracic aortic aneurysms (TAA) is lower than that of AAA, but they are more challenging to manage (2).
