Gleneden Beach man shot and killed during arrest attempt Wednesday * Lincoln Chronicle

A 49-year-old Gleneden Beach man was shot and killed by police Wednesday afternoon after he fired on them as they arrived at his home to investigate a bias crime from last week. In a news release Thursday, Lincoln City police said Daniel E. Noonan was shot at his home on Highway 229 during an exchange of gunfire with Oregon State Police and Newport Police Department officers. Noonan was taken to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital where he died.

Judge orders Lincoln County to let Miller back into courthouse offices * Lincoln Chronicle

A federal judge has ordered Lincoln County to restore Commissioner Casey Miller's full access to courthouse offices and other "rights and prerogatives of his office" by Friday following 30 minutes of oral arguments Wednesday. The ruling by U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken came on a request for a preliminary injunction by Miller and his attorneys as part of a whistleblower lawsuit he filed in March.
