Dyes-encapsulated Metal-organic Cage as Fluorescence Sensor Array for the Auxiliary Differential Diagnosis of MCD and FSGS in early Renal Disorders
Minimal change disease (MCD) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) constitute the predominant types of adult primary nephrotic syndrome (PNS), representing the most frequently encountered conditions within this category. Patients with MCD and FSGS exhibit highly similar clinical presentations, such as massive proteinuria and podocyte injury (Giannico et al., 2009). However, the treatment methods and responses for these two kidney diseases differ completely.
The Significance of Interseismic Vertical Land Movement at Convergent Plate Boundaries in Probabilistic Sea‐Level Projections for AR6 Scenarios: The New Zealand Case
1 Introduction Sea-level rise is one of the clearest planet-wide consequences of climate change. It impacts our communities and ecosystems, both through permanent inundation of the lowest-lying areas and by increasing the frequency of storm surge affecting the wider coastal environment. Future global mean sea-level (GMSL) rise will be controlled primarily by the thermal expansion of ocean water and mass wasting of land ice from glaciers, ice caps, and ice sheets.
Harmony of senses: Exploring the impact of sound aesthetic features' on taste imagery
Under a Creative Commons license open access Keywords Sound aesthetics gustatory taste crossmodal correspondences 1. Introduction Crossmodal correspondences have been defined as the often-surprising associations that exist between features or dimensions across the senses (Spence, 2011, Motoki et al., 2022, Walker, 2016). The key words here are features or dimensions.
Climatic and tectonic drivers of late Oligocene Antarctic ice volume - Nature Geoscience
Abstract Cenozoic evolution of the Antarctic ice sheets is thought to be driven primarily by long-term changes in radiative forcing, but the tectonic evolution of Antarctica may also have played a substantive role. While deep-sea foraminiferal oxygen isotope records provide a combined measure of global continental ice volume and ocean temperature, they do not provide direct insights into non-radiative influences on Antarctic Ice Sheet dynamics.
Committee orders electric, gas rate reductions across New Orleans
Home / News / Energy / Committee orders electric, gas rate reductions across New Orleans By: CityBusiness staff reports October 23, 2019 A City Council committee has ordered electric and gas rate reductions for New Orleans residents and businesses in a rate case resolution approved Wednesday. A news release said the resolution approved by the council’s Utilities Committee orders Entergy New Orleans to lower residential bills by an average of $34 per year.
Antarctic ice-sheet sensitivity to obliquity forcing enhanced through ocean connections
Abstract Deep sea geological records indicate that Antarctic ice-sheet growth and decay is strongly influenced by the Earth’s astronomical variations (known as Milankovitch cycles), and that the frequency of the glacial–interglacial cycles changes through time.
Impact of California Fires on Local and Regional Air Quality: The Role of a Low‐Cost Sensor Network and Satellite Observations
1 Introduction Wildfires, or uncontrolled forest fires, in California resulting from long, dry summers are becoming annual events initiated by both natural and human activities. Between 2007 and 2016, there were 2,434 to 3,672 fires annually, burning anywhere from 25,438 to 434,667 acres (Pimlott et al., 2016). Increasingly, more people are now living in high‐risk areas, where fires can claim lives, destroy homes and properties, and impact the climate.
Impact of California Fires on Local and Regional Air Quality: The Role of a Low‐Cost Sensor Network and Satellite Observations
PM , or fine particulate matter, is a category of air pollutant consisting of particles with effective aerodynamic diameter equal to or less than 2.5 μm. These particles have been linked to human health impacts as well as regional haze, visibility, and climate change issues. Due to cost and space restrictions, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency monitoring network remains spatially sparse.
The multi-millennial Antarctic commitment to future sea-level rise
Abstract Atmospheric warming is projected to increase global mean surface temperatures by 0.3 to 4.8 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial values by the end of this century1. If anthropogenic emissions continue unchecked, the warming increase may reach 8–10 degrees Celsius by 2300 (ref. 2).
