On the cusp of turning 50, our writer realizes she’s not ready to let go of that side of herself. I’m embarking on a project I’m calling My Year of Decluttering, where I’m getting rid of one thing a day for a year, and documenting each item and its trajectory into and out of my life on Threads and in my newsletter. I turn 50 in November, and I didn’t want to enter a new decade owning so much stuff I’m not using. So far, less than two weeks into my venture, giving things up has been relatively easy.
