Introduction The COVID-19 pandemic has exerted an intense and far-reaching pressure on economies, food systems, and supply chains around the world. Food insecurity is one important area that continues to be impacted. In the United States (US), studies conducted in the early months of the pandemic showed significantly elevated levels of food insecurity particularly among Black and Hispanic adults, in families with children, and those who were newly unemployed (1–4).
